FIRE SAFETY

Join us for breakfast and a panel discussion to learn the ins and outs of Fire Safetly.  Something every FM needs to think about!

The meeting will take place in Building 2 shown on the map below.  The first 50 members to register willl receive free parking for 3 hours at the PBC Garage also shown on the map below.

Immediately after the meeting, attendees can go on a short walking tour of the campus led by Marshall MacFarlane, Executive Director, Campus Management And Operations.

Also, the Facility Manager Peer Group will meet right after the meeting.  (FM's only)

PREVENT was founded by CEO Dennis Cohan as a provider of fire barrier management and life safety services in 2004. While serving the healthcare industry via his general contracting firm Pencon, Dennis identified a gap in the provision of specialized life safety management within hospital environments. He responded by developing the service and incorporated PREVENT as a standalone entity. Long at the forefront of the industry, the company provides inspection, installation, repair and recertification of fire dampers, fire doors, firestopping, HVAC system/air duct cleaning and code compliance advisory/fire barrier management programs. While healthcare remains our primary focus, Prevent now also serves large-scale mixed-use, office, education, multifamily and other commercial facilities to ensure compliance and the highest levels of fire safety throughout the US.  We’re committed to saving lives, every day, by ensuring your buildings are compliant, and their occupants are safe.

 

Fernando has 18 years of experience in the fire protection industry and has been with American Fire since 2011 and is responsible for over 75 healthcare facilities and 10 million square feet of healthcare space. As a result of his experience as a field tech, in management and in sales, he has gained a vast knowledge base in multiple areas of the industry. Fernando has assisted American Fire in becoming the largest fire protection provider in Arizona, with offices throughout the southwest. American Fire Equipment was established in 1992 as a woman / veteran owned company and has grown to become a successful force in the fire protection industry. Purchased in 2017 by The Hiller Companies, our primary focus remains in the local construction and end user markets providing for your special hazards, building fire alarm systems and providing for your portable extinguishers needs. 

Fire Prevention is the inspection, education, and enforcement division of the fire department providing life safety services through code enforcement and inspections during the new business development process, general fire inspections, operating and special use permitting and complaint investigation. Fire Prevention is the key to saving lives and property. Fire Prevention education is the first step in the Fire Department's commitment to protecting the lives and property of our citizens, guests, and neighboring communities. The Phoenix Fire Department's Fire Prevention Division is committed to providing you the most comprehensive information and assistance possible.

For 2018 the FMPG (Facility Manager's Peer Group) will be facilitating meetings after the regularly scheduled member meeting/tours to review best practices in a roundtable discussion.  It is hoped that this will provide a valuable set of data to the participants and the FM Community in general.  Only Facility Manaagers can attend.
