Patrick Okamura Education Scholarship
With the generosity of IFMA Fellow Patrick Okamura, the IFMA Greater Phoenix Chapter is providing an opportunity to all individuals seeking financial support to advance their Education Credentials through the Patrick Okamura Education Scholarship. Patrick Okamura and the IFMA Greater Phoenix Chapter understand the rigors of sustaining the financial burden while maintaining an efficient professional career. Through this scholarship we hope to provide one valued individual who is enthusiastic in learning and looking for a way to climb higher by obtaining the Facility Management Professional (FMP) credential at the Chapter hosted in-person series.
Scholarship Type:
- Continuing Education
- FMP Credential
- Career Oriented + Student
Applicants who are currently employed with a company or pursuing a degree with one or more focuses in Facility Management or related fields are encouraged to complete and submit the application.
Scholarship Amount:
- $1900 to go towards the Greater Phoenix Chapter FMP Credential Series
Dates for the upcoming series are:
- August 20 & 21
- September 17 & 18
- October 22 & 23
- November 12 & 13
Eligibility:
- Professionals and Students currently in Facility Management or related field with demonstrated interest in advancing their Educational Degree
- Any professional and associate members of IFMA Greater Phoenix Chapters and IFMA Student Chapter are eligible to apply
- Applications are due by 5:00 PM MST, June 17th, 2026
Selection Process:
- A committee of FM Professionals will evaluate each application and score according to evaluation guidelines.
- Scores will be totaled, and the top applicant will be awarded the POE Scholarship.
- Diversity, Financial Need, Impact of receiving the scholarship to advance applicant’s career/community are part of selection process.
- Scholarship will be awarded by IFMA Phoenix Chapter for the Chapter hosted, in-person FMP series.
PATRICK OKAMURA, IFMA FELLOW
Patrick Okamura is a dedicated Facility Manager with an experience of 40+ years. Patrick has dedicated 40 years of life in development and enhancement of the FM industry through his contribution to IFMA and the IFMA Greater Phoenix chapter. Patrick spent more than 20 years being an instructor for Phoenix chapter helping countless professionals gain their credentials. Because of his enormous support and contributions to the industry, he was named IFMA fellow, one of the prestigious awards to be given in the industry. IFMA Fellows form an elite core of respected leaders, advisors and ambassadors who are frequently called upon for their unmatched knowledge of the facility management profession. It’s time we honor his contributions through a small venue like this.
